Laboratory Testing: A Method of Assessing Functional Health
I have trained with western medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, doctors of oriental medicine, Ayurvedic doctors, homeopathic doctors, shamans and spiritual healers. All of them were dedicated to helping people improve their health. They used different methods to learn about the individual patient and then would make decisions about the next steps to take in improving the patient's health.
Many stories could be told about the challenges of deciding what kinds of testing to perform, and about the desired results of testing: the improvement of the life of the individual being tested. Standard laboratory tests can be very helpful in learning about how the body is functioning.
There are other ways of learning about how the body and the mind are functioning. You can read about those on the other pages of this site.

Integrative Medicine clinics can provide access to virtually all types of laboratory testing, whether ordered directly by a practitioner or by an appropriately licensed provider who can be consulted for the testing.
